Bringing Everyone Outdoors

Retaining Walls

Retaining Walls Landscaping is a mix-and-match of various features, when used in the right measure can help create spaces that are aesthetically appealing, functional and a value-add to your property. While plantings and trees add life and freshness to the landscape, masonry features become the foundation of many installations and balance out the look of the landscape well. This is where different types of walls come into the picture.

At Prairies Edge Landscaping, we believe that every landscape is different and understand that every homeowner has specific ideas about what they want their property to look like. Our personalized approach and customized services have helped us build a very solid customer base in Cleveland, Cushing, Drumright, and Maramec.

We also have a large number of clients in and around Morrison, Pawnee, Perkins, and Perry, and have successfully completed landscape wall installations projects in Stillwater, Yale, and the surrounding areas.

Types of Walls

Walls serve many purposes in the landscape. Their location, structure, and materials used will be dependent on their function. As expert landscapers, we can handle a variety of wall installation projects. On our team are expert masonry designers and installers that have the skill, training, expertise, and knowledge to design and build walls that will provide the necessary support to your landscape and create well-demarcated spaces as well.

The wall construction project may be part of your broader landscape design and installation project or just a standalone job where we build a wall/s in your existing landscape. The different types of walls we can build for you include:

  • Retaining Walls- These are structural features and can be used to terrace a yard allowing for more complete use of the landscape. Retaining walls are specially engineered custom installations that are built to complement the space they are to be installed in. In most cases, Concrete Masonry Units (CMUs) are used in the construction, but natural stone, concrete and brick may also be used as required. These walls help prevent soil erosion and provide ample support to sloping areas in a landscape.

  • Freestanding Walls- The one way to make optimum use of the available space in your landscape is to demarcate the areas that are meant for a specific use. For instance, you may need to build walls to segregate your outdoor kitchen from the rest of the yard or may want to create a dedicated corner in the yard for a fireplace/fire pit and the surrounding seating space.
